Privacy Policy

Overview

Nimbus is a weather app, and this site (nimbus.sleepingiantmarketing.com) is its companion website. This policy explains, plainly, what information each of them uses, why, and what they never do. Both are built by Sleeping Giant Marketing Services Private Limited ("we", "us").

Location Data (the app)

Nimbus uses your device's location — with your permission — or a city you search for manually, to look up weather for that place. Your coordinates are sent only to Open-Meteo's public weather API to fetch a forecast; we do not attach any account, advertising, or device identifier to that request.

This Website

The companion website you're reading this on makes no network calls of its own — the "see it in action" demo in the Time Machine section uses six pre-set, real captured examples with no live lookup, so nothing you click there is sent anywhere.

Third-Party Services

The only external service Nimbus talks to is Open-Meteo, for forecast, historical, air-quality, and city-search data. No user account is required to use Nimbus, and it does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDK.

What We Don't Collect

• No account or sign-in — Nimbus does not require an account of any kind.
• No analytics — Nimbus does not use analytics services to track how you use the app.
• No advertising — there are no ad networks integrated into Nimbus.
• No microphone access — although Android lists an audio-related permission, it exists solely so Nimbus can play ambient weather soundscapes on your device. Nimbus does not record the microphone, and never captures audio from your surroundings.
• Nimbus does not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Storage

Your saved cities, unit preference, accent color, and cached forecasts are stored locally on your device only. They are never uploaded to us or to any server we control. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it removes this data.

Children's Privacy

Nimbus is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
